Navajo Churro Wool Roving, Homegrown Natural Colors 4 oz.
$ 18.00
Homegrown Navajo Churro wool roving is perfect for spinning, weaving, felting, and locker hooking. Our Navajo Churro sheep (considered a rare and endangered breed) provide us with a wide assortment of colors and have a sweeping view of the La Plata and San Juan Mountains from their fields. We use organic methods, whenever possible, in producing our wool.
We are participating providers with the Shave 'em to Save 'em program from the Livestock Conservancy and our Navajo Churro roving qualifies for a passport sticker.
(Photo sequence: all colors, 2023 colors, 2017 colors, gray, light brown, charcoal)
Specific color notes:
Charcoal - A warm black with light fibers running through it.
Brown - A slightly grayed brown. Several shades darker than our light brown.
The white Churro fiber for spinning arrived in good time and was beautifully packed in earth-friendly paper wrapping and box. Thank you.
The fiber is extremely beautiful; clean and almost glows with health. I have been enjoying spinning it on various spindles, and it spins perfectly with each one. When I needed a short length of strong yarn to secure something today, I took a moderate wisp of the Churro and spun & plied it at a good twist, and this great little cord did the job well. I am spinning it to weave, but may also knit with it. It smells wonderful and has a presence. Thank you. Be well.
This is so beautiful and easy to work with!
I love buying from the people who raised the sheep! This wool roving is so nicely done. Perfect for the project I am working on and, if I have leftovers, will be fun to use in some other project!
This roving is wonderful, exactly what I wanted for a project I am working on.
Looks nicely prepared and ready to spin.
