Shetland Sheep
We became interested in Shetland sheep as a more sustainable and manageable alternative to other fine-fleece breeds and purchased our first stock in 2008. Considered a primitive breed, Shetlands are hardy, personable, and come in a gorgeous array of colors. Their small size and friendly personality make them wonderful for handling, and their fleece can be very soft. More information about Shetland sheep can be found at the North American Shetland Sheepbreeders Association (NASSA) website.
Our sheep are registered with NASSA and our breeder flock is Corner Notch Farm #1953. We are working to expand our flock and offer breeding stock more consistently, so stay tuned to developments over at our Livestock for Sale page.
Shetlands are listed on the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy as a "recovering" breed.
