Timberline Sock Yarn, Colorado-Grown Wool, 3.5 oz
$ 26.00
Our hand-painted Timberline sock yarn is 2-ply mill-spun, 75% Colorado-Grown heritage Tunis** wool & 25% nylon, in 3.5 oz skeins. Grown in Colorado and USA-spun, this is not your average yarn!
Our 'Timberline' was inspired by the point where trees give way to alpine meadows, filled with wildflowers, in the high elevations of our San Juan Mountains. The trees that push this boundary are sculpted by wind and weather into fantastically contorted shapes and rich, varied shades of green.

**Tunis is one of the oldest indigenous breeds in the United States, is relatively rare as recorded by the Livestock Conservancy, and was preferred by Thomas Jefferson over Merinos. Containing Leicester Longwool and Southdown genetics, this background gives Tunis fiber its soft and bouncy hand, qualities which it has lent to this sock yarn. (Much of the breed information is from Clara Parkes's The Knitter's Book of Wool.)
We attempt to represent our colors as accurately as possible, but your monitor/screen's settings may alter the display. Variations in color may occur, as each skein is painted by hand; we cannot guarantee perfectly matching colors between dye lots.
